Scouting
We offer several programs geared towards particular merit badges. A session can consist of a 1 to 3 hour lesson and we can do multiple sessions as required. We provide two levels of programs:
Full Option – We provide through instruction to help scouts earn the following merit badges. (multiple hours)
Partial – completion of several of hard to complete requirements for a particular pin or merit badge. (~1 hr)
The cost for either option is $9.95 per hr. per scout (Some activities have additional facilities fees)
Webelos
Engineering activity badge
We cover electricity and electrical safety, simple working electrical circuits using a flashlight battery, a switch, and a light. Scouts learn bridge design principles construct a model bridges of their own of your. We also cover block and tackle and build a catapult.
Boy Scouts
Computer Merit Badge
We use the Mindstorms Robots to teach the materials required for the computer merit badge. Students learn the fundamentals of computers and computer programming with fun and engaging programming robots.
Electricity Merit Badge
We teach this merit badge with materials from the Science and Technology for Children (STC) curriculum by the National Science Foundation and the Smithsonian Institution.
Electronics Merit Badge
Electronics is taught with hands on activities i.e. building burglar alarm circuits on breadboards
Climbing Merit Badge
We teach rock climbing at the Plant Rock climbing gyms in Ann Arbor, Pontiac and the Walled Lake Outdoor education center. Our staff are certified instructors with over 15 years of combined experience.
Orienteering Merit Badge
Covers map and compass reading as well as International Control Descriptions for Orienteering includes the IOF revisions of 2004.
Special Projects
Build a canoe as a troop and learn craftsmanship, hand-tool use etc...
